OBJECTIVES
 
 
Parrot Island Toys Bird Haven seeks to improve the quality of life for all parrots by:
 
  • Providing education materials regarding care and needs of parrots;
  • Facilitate adoption for parrots who need a new home;
  • Help parrots who outlive their guardians find a new home;
  • Find homes for neglected or unwanted parrots;
  • Support better avian education;
  • Advocate standards of care for breeders, pet stores, sanctuaries, rescues;
  • To promote adoption of parrots rather than supporting breeding of birds
  • We do not buy or breed birds.
 
 
 
MISSION
 
 
  • To take under our wing and re home parrots for whatever reasons that their current owners may have.
  • To rehabilitate any parrot that can be rehabilitated and then be placed  in a permanent forever home, or to provide a permanent and loving home within our own flock to any parrot that is unsuitable for adoption.
  • Provide education and educational resources for all parrot owners and any potential parrot owners, including diet, care and other requirements.
  • If a bird will not receive the same or better care in an adoptive home than it does with us, we will not allow the bird to be adopted.
